About

Karen Jorgensen began her career in real estate working as a licensed real estate and leasing agent, an opportunity that gave her real world experience while she attended college. In school she found she was ahead of other marketing students not only because of her real world experience, but also because of the computer programming and graphic design abilities that she had already developed in her youth.

Therefore, she easily made a name for herself and quickly excelled to the top of her class at the Salt Lake Community College, where she has made a lasting impression on her professors, the marketing department, and the school of business. She made the President’s List multiple times. She was also hired directly onto the college’s marketing team.

In just two years, Karen not only jumpstarted her future in marketing, but she received multiple awards for her passionate efforts that included winning 1st place in state Collegiate DECA competitions in 2009 and 2011 and going on place nationally, she won the Who’s Who in America award in both 2009 and 2011, and she received the Salt Lake Community College’s School of Business Marketing Student of the Year in 2011. She capped her graduation with a 3.94 GPA, having been awarded multiple scholarships, and landing an internship at Riester, a premier ad agency in the Salt Lake City. Karen has completed her internship while simultaneously working as the Development Office Corporate Sponsorship Assistant at SLCC.

Karen continues her passionate work in marketing and is currently being courted for multiple opportunities in the field while pursuing her academic career further at the University of Utah.
